Compositions Images

Composition Techniques

I'm excited to focus on mastering composition techniques and exposure control in this black-and-white photography project! I've created a series of images that beautifully showcase visual balance, proportion, and depth using manual settings and embracing concepts like the Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, and some fun, unusual angles. I chose to include both the not-so-great and the good photos I captured because they truly reflect my progress in technical accuracy and my creative journey.

My Desktop

First Trial

Raw View of My Study Zone. It's slightly blurry but very real.

Second Trial

In this exploration, I truly enjoyed testing exposure and focus to see how everyday setups can transform into captivating subjects. While the results were a bit blurry, it was a fantastic starting point for learning to compose with intention.

The moment is balanced in light and shadow. We learn to frame the ordinary differently.

This second attempt really shines with its clearer exposure and sharper details! Adjusting the processor and light settings creates a lovely balance of light and space in the frame.

The Corridor

A Quiet Hallway, Lit by Winter Sunlight. The Stillness Speaks Louder than movement.

This corridor became a perfect scene for practicing depth, focus, and visual rhythm by exploring leading lines and lighting contrast.

Tree In Winter

1st Trial

A first glance at winter's calm. Lines, Contrast, & Soft Texture.

A quiet winter landscape. I played with framing & natural lines while adjusting for proper exposure.

2nd Trial

3rd Trial

The second Trial offered more depth in shadows. A subtle Shift in mood.

In this second Trial, I refined the focus and contrast to capture stronger textures and depth, which shows how subtle changes affect the composition.

This final version has more exposure, angle, and detail found in harmony.

Here, there is a better balance in exposure and framing. Each rial was a step for me to understand how light and shadow can sculpt the scene.

Sky Tree

1st Trial

2nd Trial

The Sky was heavy, and the trees   stood still. This first attempt gives   a dreamy silhouette.

It captures bare branches against a   moody sky. An exercise in   proportion and atmospheric texture.

The second Trial has better clarity, allowing branches to stand out.

This refined version has better contrast exposure. It shows my progress in the photo processing settings impact clarity and feeling.

Pin Hole Photography

I'm excited to share these wonderful new images created with the enchanting art of pinhole photography! This beautiful yet simple technique relies on just a tiny hole instead of a traditional lens. Light gracefully enters through this small opening in a homemade camera, casting a lovely image onto photographic paper. This method beautifully combines patience, experimentation, and a sprinkle of wonder!

First Attempt

 First, experimentation with image processing.

It beautifully captures a gentle, ethereal quality of space. Though imperfect, it plays a valuable role in the learning journey.

Positive Print

Negative print produced by the image processing attempt.

It beautifully reveals the interplay of light and shadow, showcasing the unexpected charm of low-tech imagery.

Final Print.

This image beautifully captures a gentle, soft-focus perspective of structure and shape. It has shown me a new, simpler way to play with light, allowing me to see things differently.
